The natural fashion Italia L. uses and works the materials available locally in its territory: the Pietra Pece and the Timpa. Thesse materials have always been used in our landscape and in our urban background, in fact these stones represent the fulcrum of the history of this earth.
The Stones in Nature The Pietra Pece and the Timpa are typical elements in our territory. Their presence is observable in the dry-stone walls, which border the dales of our highland like an artistic chessboard, creating landscapes of incomparable beauty.
The Stones in the Art The Pietra Pece and the Timpa are the most important elements of the artistic and architectural property of the hiblaean baroque. The historic centres of Ragusa Ibla, Modica and Scicli, with their noble buildings and great Churches, show these materials being used for statues, decorations and the eighteenth-century balconies.
The Stones today Today these traditional stones are used in old buildings and renovations. It is, however, possible to place the Timpa and the Pietra Pece in most existing and modern constructions, with the contrast between old and new, reaching the top of a dense style of harmonious contrasts.
Italia L. wants to improve the way these materials are presented in nature, with their charming imperfections and their colours as uneven as decorative. They do not have technical features to guarantee high perfomance, but the firm is strongly busy in the retrieval of the natural stones, to revalue what neture offers to us and to promote the harmonic relation of the materials with their surrounding.
